שי נהרג בסיומו של פסטיבל מוזיקה בברזיל, כאשר טייל עם חבריו באי קסום שאותו כינה "גן עדן". הכל קרה בתאונה הזויה לחלוטין. שי שכב על ערסל, כאשר העמוד שאליו היה קשור, קרס על חזהו, והרגו במקום.
להבה בוהקת כבתה באותו רגע. אך אורו ממשיך וימשיך להאיר.

This website created in the memory of Shai Maivar

Shai passed away after a music festival in Brazil while vacationing on an island he described as "paradise". A freak accident – he was laying in a hammock and the pole holding fell on his chest, killing him instantly.
A bright flame extinguished, but his light shines and will shine on.
Shai was 28 years old.
